Blackberry id for second phone

I now have a second blackberry and want to get a blackberry id for it.  I already have one for my first phone.  I tried to register but it won't allow it as I tried to enter the same email address that I use from when I registered my first phone.  Can't you use the same email address as user name for both as long as each has a unique password?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

One BB ID can have one BB and one PlayBook associated with it. Additional devices require their own unique BB ID.

So that means I would have to use another email address if I want to register the second device right?

Correct. The second device must have completely separate credentials from the other, and part of the credentials is the email address associated with the BB.
