Blackberry messenger

I recently updated my blackberry messenger and it stopped working. Then I removed it from the phone through the desktop application. Now whenever I try to install it, the blackberry app world says it is already installed. What do I do?

Restore your BlackBerry through a Backup, or do a security wipe: Options--> Security--> Security Wipe.

i upgraded my bbm and try to login with my user name and paswword which is correct and now its asking me of CONFIRM USERNAME FOR BLACKBERRY SMARTPHONE which i did not understand.

please help
