Blackberry profiles returning error message: Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

I was on a trip to Seattle and returned home in Toronto last night on a flight. When I returned home and turned my cell, I lost my Profiles. What I mean is that at some point, when I was receiving a call, I could take the call but the screen freezed and I can't do anything with the cell except close the call. The screen keeps the image of the caller and phone number and I have no ability to return to main menu. None of the usual notification alerts are functionning.

When I click on "Profiles" I get this error message: Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException - and I have no access to even creating a new profile.

Can you help me?

Hello nlandreville

Welcome to the forums.

In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry® smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.

Here is how to backup your BlackBerry smartphone http://bbry.lv/oPVWXc

Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the BlackBerry smartphone software.
