Blackberry torch 9810 stuck on boot up screen

My blackberry is stuck booting up. I have read the other forum entries on how to fix this issue. (i.e. updating the OS)

My desktop manager does recognize the phone during boot up and I see the retry/update dialog box.


However, I wanted to know if there is a way to extract all of my pictures from the phone before doing this as the dialog says i will lose all of my data on the phone. It is an old phone and I actually care more about recovering my photos than I do getting the phone back to working condition.


Is there a way to fix this stuck in bootup issue without losing the photos in the phone?


I do not have a backup (not a recent one anyway) and i do not have a media card, all pictures were stored on the device. 


Thanks, please let me know if there is a way to save my photos.

Painful lesson -- backups, like insurance, are neither a reactive nor an optional activity. All computing devices suffer failures -- it is not a matter of "if", only "when". Unless you can get the device to boot up normally, then there is no interface through which to extract your data from the device.


The only thing I can think of for you to try is Safe Mode:

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
