In our first day of our europe trip..my wife phone got stolen. She has an official unlock Blackberry Bold 9900 phone.
I contacted our provider AT&T about blocking the device, they said that the can't do it because it is not an AT&T phone. AT&T only suspend the service. They were even unable to direct us to whome should we speak with.
I would like to totally block the phone from being used with any sim. How can I do that?
The device have imprtant information and my wife has a password on the device. Can they hack it without formating the deivce.

Welcome to the Community
Sorry to hear about the stolen phone. The device cannot be blocked. If the culprit tried to enter an incorrect pin and failed all the attempts, the phone will automatically do a Security Wipe. The information on the phone will be safe but it can still be used for another service.

Thanks Ron for your prompt respond...
How many password attemps does the Blackberry allow?
Having the IMEA number of the device won't help RIM to block the device?
I am asking because if it was an AT&T phone they will do it but since it is not they can't.
