Bluetooth Disables by itself on Pearl

Has anyone else had a problem keeping bluetooth enabled on the Pearl?  I've tried everything I know how within settings to keep it enabled but it just shuts off completely every ten minutes or so.  My Plantronics 520 works great and connects quickly as long as bluetooth is enabled on the phone.  Thanks for the help and ideas.  --frustrated

Have you disabled the Blue Flashing Icon?  If so, re-enable it.  It has caused problems on several users on another forum.

Hi Phranc. You Mean making LED flashing for Blutooth will solve the issue! Do you know actual cause of it?

It's a sftware issue.  Search here, BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community on Bluetooth Indicator or browse through the messages from the last 30 days and you will see a couole of references.  Most notably there are several threads on not being able to keep devices connected..

Re: Bluetooth Disables by itself on Pearl

I've dealt with several Sprint business solutions tech support reps to try to resolve this. Some of them sent me replacement units, others tried to convince me that the bluetooth radio being auto-disabled is a "power saving feature". Sure it saves power, but it's a bug not a feature, and a pain in the butt. I've sent emails to RIM, but haven't gotten a response yet.

It's true that leaving the bright blue blinking light on makes this problem go away, but that just drains the battery faster, and irritates the heck out of people in a dark room.

The BB is definitely no good for dark quiet places, like your bedroom at night. It makes all kinds of noises and wants to blink lights no matter how much you want it to keep a low profile. Unless you turn it off, but what good is it doing you then?
