I found my bold 9000 dead when I back to home after a 4 month trip. The scrren is black, and the red led isn't light up.
Treid charge using a wall charger for 24 hrs, but still can't boot, the red led is still dark.
Tried my friend's full charged battery, still can't boot, the red led is still dark.
Any one has comments to fix the problem?

hey my bold is still dead, sleep in me desk.
i'm in shanghai, china, so there is no officla black berry repair services.
The local repair shop told me that the motherbold was dead as well as the 'dictionary' chip. Nobody could fix the the problem like that unless offical blackberry repair services.
But you know BB sale phone through telecom company, so seems like contact the services provider is the only opition.
Let's wait and see if some one could head up fixing the motherboard.
This is all what i got. though they are not very helpful.

Thanks for your reply...
This is bad news though. I'll try to find a dealer / repari center to have a look on the mobile...
It is the blackberry of a friend of mine. I feel like I broke it....
Anyway I'll keep you posted if something good comes up.

Mine recovered by itself....
What I did :
1. I pulled off battery
2. I let the blackberry like that for a night long
3. In the morning I tried to plug it in and wow... a red light.
4. I put the battery back in
5. I switch it on and It works like a charm
Hope it could be the same for you

I "repaired" my Bold 9000 by myself.
I simply used a screwdriver to touch the little lithium battery near the SIM card slot. I then plugged the USB cable and - WOW - red led again.
Maybe I discharged something by touching the battery...

Just an update: I today "repaired" another Bold 9000. Same way: using a metallic item I shortened for a second the little lithium battery located near the SIM slot. It worked again, the Bold was dead and now works perfectly.
