I have a Bold (wish I bought an I-Phone now, they actually work and sync).
Has anyone tried anything that actually works. All of my other stuff (emails, contacts) sync with Outlook 2003 (I use Windows XP) but none of the set-up options, which I've done over-and-over, on the RIM Desktop Manager software work. If you go into one of the reporting logs, it lists an 'Internal Error Code 4238', before it gives-up on the Calendar sync.
Have reviewed the Boards and the 100's of proposed solutions to this issue, none of which seem to work. RIM needs to develop a patch - this is ridiculous to have so many users trying 100's of work-arounds and other half-baked solutions ! They charge a premium price for this device and it cannot even easily sync like my very old Palm used to do. Won't buy a b-berry again.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Using the error code you listed "' Internal Error Code 4238", I turned up 2 problems, counting yours.

Please tell me how many of the "hundreds of solutions" you have actually tried, and I will happily
work with you to narrow it down and see if we can resolve the problem.

Please describe your setup.
Are you BES?
Are you using an MS exchange server?
Is your Outlook .pst file on your PC or is it networked and you are mapped to it?

I don't know what BES is.
I'm not using a MS Exchange server. I like only to synchronise my exisiting contacts files on my computer with the blackberry. After three to thirty contacts the synchronising stops with the described error.

My Outlook is mapped to *.pst file directly on my PC (originally I had several pst files in that file directory due to some archiving I did by date segments, but I've since corrected that so that only the one correct pst file is located there)
We're not on a MS exchange server (nor a Bberry server) -- my Bberry is just linked to my work email address.

I don't know where the mistake was. But I typed about one third of the adresses on my computer new (I have to delete the old adresses, also I have to delete the blackberry adresses like "Auskunft, Travelservice, Notruf, ...." These ones didn't work either.
So for now, I solved my problem. I got the adresses to the blackberry.
