I hope you can help. I have tried various methods suggested on the support forum and am still looking for help.
Two days ago, I connected my Blackberry to the PC (Blackberry Desktop Software) and let it update. When this was done, my BBM icon had vanished completely (and probably my contacts).
Was BBM version 184.108.40.206 and I think it was trying to update to version 220.127.116.11. There was a message that a 'net.rim.bb.......' issue was detected, causing problems updating.
I have tried the following with no success so far:
- Re-starting the phone
- Updated the Blackberry Protect with an authentication ID
- Been to 'Applications' on Desktop Software - but cannot add BBM, as it is showing but not highlighted
- Been to the 'Setup' icon on the phone, but BBM is not ticked, and my phone freezes on this screen everytime
- Many times, tried to 'download BBM' from the below websites and sent a download link to my phone, but the page always closes as the pages are too large for the phone to handle; There is not much saved on my phone.
Also, I cannot understand the reason this happened during a Blackberry Desktop Update?
Any idea what has caused this - as I am now wary of using the Blackberry Desktop Software for further updates, and also how to fix it please?
