Re: Bold 9700 Upgrade to OS6?

5. use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a complete backup)
then after you get the error 507 (no OS installed)

6. remove internet connection to PC and reboot.

7. Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

enjoy the new OS.

Hi, I dont understand the BBSAK part? are we meant to plug our blackberry back in?

I also do not understand remove internet connection to PC?

and what are we meant to Reboot? the blackberry or the PC

Is step 7 meant to be upgrade tool?

Re: Bold 9700: Upgrade to OS6?

Yes, plug in and use the bbsak to wipe your device...it will remove all of os5 info and make it ready to install os6. Make sure and follow all of the directions, and it will go smoothly...the instructions I used were from 00bunge00 and can be found on page 8 of this discussion. It worked perfectly, and if followed, should have you running on your new os soon. I did this on the 3rd and have been extremely happy with the resulting operation of my phone.

ShebazAK: yes, plug in BB and wipe using BBSAK. Then remove the internet to your computer (either turn of wireless or remove internet cable) then reboot your pc to make sure it does not follow the vendor file anymore

Re: Bold 9700: Upgrade to OS6?

Disconnect your computer from its internet source (I assume that it keeps your device from looking up os5 to upgrade you to online) and reboot the computer, not the BB.

Tlute: you must reboot the pc to stop it from referencing (looking for) the Vendor file. If you do not reboot, it may not work as it will remember the file and try to look for it.

Re: Bold 9700: Upgrade to OS6?

Yes, as long as you are using the OS6 file, it will install OS6.
