Bold 9700 Wont Restart After Facebook Update

My 9700 will not restart. 


After taking out the battery the bar loads halfway and freezes. Since the phone does not actually make it to the home screen it will not connect to my computer.


What can i do? I think its related to a facebook update that it made me do this morning 


Please I would appreciate any feedback on how to Hard restart, reboot any thing
