Bold 9790 Ear Speaker Not Working

Hey everyone,

 

My Bold 9790 ear speaker has recently stopped working.  At first it was not working of just the odd phone call but since a couple of days ago it seems to happen with every single phone call.  If I answer the phone or make a call there is absolute silence from the ear speaker although the person on the other end of the phone can hear me.  Therefore, in order to hold a conversation on the phone I have to either activate loudspeaker or use the headset.

 

The phone is about 3 months old.  I tried a battery pull and this didn't solve the problem.

I'm guessing it is a hardware issue and I'll have to call o2 and arrange to send it for repair :\

I charged my phone yesterday and since doing so the ear speaker has curiously started to work again, although it is pretty quiet (but I think I noticed it being a bit quiet when I first got the phone)

I updated blackberry messenger, blackberry protect, and facebook and then synced my facebook to bb messenger, I deleted Yahoo and windows live.
My speaker now works, T-mobile kept telling me it was a hardware problem and I need to send my phone for repair!
Shows how much the professionals know!

I have the same problem.

I have not yet installed any third-party apps.

Speaker phone works, earbuds work, built-in ear speaker does not work. The ringer is also functional.

 

I tried removing and re-inserting the battery, no change.
I tried restoring to previous backups, no change.

I am presently charging fully, however it is presently at almost-full charge and there is no change.

 

Any new ideas??

After a COMPLETE recharge (which took suspiciously long...) the speaker started working again, no idea why but not much bothered.

Steps I took:
Restore from backup
Battery pull
Complete recharge.

Just push under the lock button at the top and it should work again
