Bold 9790: SMS older than 1 month gets deleted

Ever since I updated to OS 7.1 on my Bold 9790 any SMS older than 1 month are getting deleted automatically. This is despite the SMS validity period set to "Max". How can I stop this?

Re: Bold 9790: SMS older than 1 month gets deleted

home screen >> menu >> switch application
chose the envelope icon.
This should open the "Messages" app.
menu >> options >> general options
there should be an option named "Keep Messages" with several values : 15 days, 30 days, up to 6 Months and Forever.

it is different from the "SMS Validity period".

Thanks for the help. I had overlooked this option. My problem seems to have been solved now.

Re: Bold 9790: SMS older than 1 month gets deleted

Hello,

"Keep Forever" is not unlimited. If application memory becomes low, the device must protect itself and begin to delete older messages. There is no way to override that.

Good luck!
