Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I assume you are talking about the paired test...one 4h15m charging process, and another battery swap. Given that you already tried the battery swap, with the results you achieved I would hold no hope for the 4h15m process.
in the meantime is there a way I can i transfer my synced/backup data from the 9790 to my 8520??
Probably...it all depends on exactly what "synced/backup data" means in your case. BB Protect? Desktop Software backup? Synch to Outlook or some other PIM? Something else? Depending on which applies to you, your restore path will quite naturally be very different.
Thanks and let us know!

Article ID: KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data to a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file
BTW -- sycn and backup are completely separate functions. The BBB file has nothing at all to do with sync...only backup/restore.
