Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

Todays usage is happily sitting at 4% while I have been browsing and on calls,

It it stays that way or improves it should give a huge increase in battery life.

It can only get better with future releases. Smiley Happy

[ Edited ]

I updated the new OS two days ago  with hardly any usage,  I am down to 75% within 4 hours. Something not right!

Considering give the phone back and getting another one from Voda UK.

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

@bb_nas- something definetely not right, have you done a battery pull? And did you update or wipe first?

@mike- finding it really good, I don't work for RIM btw, totally independant tester and I work in IT so experienced in issues. Below are todays trend from the onboard battery analyser. :

Hope this gives you an idea. For all information: I spoke to Orange customer services and they have 7.1 scheduled for a Feb launch with greatly improved battery, UMA and wifi personal hotspot being mentioned.

About time too. Smiley Happy

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

@bb_nas, what version did you use? Was it still 7.0? As I just mentioned it looks like the UK networks are testing 7.1 just now. Think they have been holding off for some reason.

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

I done battery pull. I didn't wipe, just updated the software. It shouldn't really make a difference?

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

Yes I'm aware you don't work for RIM..    I just wanted to confirm that it was the Thursday leaked 7.1.0.190 OS that you were referring to and not the hybrid version you were working on earlier last week..

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

@bb_nas- ok thanks, wiping the phone can make a difference as it could be an app or setting that causing the drain. Not always necessary though. .585 is not too bad for a v7.0 software but I think RIM are moving to OS 7.1 for a reason. Smiley Happy

@Mike- that's ok, just so you realise I am not being biased over my reports on the battery. Want to get this sorted for everyone. Smiley Happy

This is .190 now. Full version, not the Hybrid that I have been testing. It was a bit premature getting that on for testing, 2 days before a new leak. Lol
