Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

Oh BTW, I eventually have to just unplug the phone from the laptop because it just sits at that 'connection' stage forever.

2 things,

1) battery pull on your phone

2) Install or re-install the latest version of Desktop Manager

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

Hi there!

I recently purchased a Bold 9900 in Canada, unlocked, originally from Rogers.

I'm experiencing lots of problems regarding batery drainning.

The software I have on the BB is v7.1.0.391.

Someone help? Should I stay with this bundle or should I move to .523?

Right now, is not lasting for more than 12 hours, and I don't have any aplications running on the background others than BBM, browser, phone and email.

Moreover, I'm using it only for a couple of emails, BBM's and phone calls per day. Smiley Frustrated

(I'm missing my old 9000 already)

Thanks in advance guys for any help!

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

Hi, if you read the last few pages there have been some developments over the last week of so.

.523 was the best OS around for the last couple of months however 7.1.0.658 is now seeming to be a lot better.

If you want to give it a try you can get a link in our blog on my signature.

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

Instead of going back to 523 after mistakenly upgrading, I'm now loving 658 for the battery life. Has anyone noticed other major improvements?

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

No to .714; however, after 18 hours and running 4G, twitter and pretty good usage with a couple battery pulls, I'm at 30% battery life..

Let's see if this holds up.

Any other thoughts on .658?

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

That sounds good, 658 is a good OS. Our hybrid is running well. But I am running a 7.1.0.694 hybrid that we created for AT&T users.

There is issues with the AT&T network that stops the mike working so we created a 714 hybrid on top of 694. And it works without the mike issue.

It also runs smoother than almost any OS I have used recently. Very low drain even using youtube for more than an hour on 3G.

Re: Bold 9900 Battery Life

A little bit .. however since ifraser and a couple of others all seem so advanced blackberry users maybe you can help me with this query;

I've been trying to update my playbook from 2.0.1.358 to .668. However i'm not sure how to do it... my playbook doesnt ask me for it and I can't seem to find any hints on the internet
