Hello, I was performing a soft reset on my Blackberry Bold 9900 this morning after updating a few applications. The reset bar was loading slower than usual which I found odd but I didn't think there was anything wrong with that. However, I got a shock when the device went to the welcome screen and I was greeted with a wiped device. All the data in my Bold was gone, except for a few applications.
Can someone please explain to me what happened? I tried to use the Blackberry Protect App to restore my phone but it leads me to a back-up option instead. I am considering plugging it into my desktop software to restore it but I'm afraid what may happen instead.

Nope. All I did was update my applications from the BB App World and followed the reboot option. Didn't do anything other than that.
I've already backed-up my BB from the Blackberry Protect app. The back-up is from last month, but it's better than losing all my data, I suppose. I'm just frustrated how this could happen suddenly.
