I purchased my 9900 bold in May of this year, in July it would not switch on, took it to the MTN agent who said it has water damage since the red light was on in the inside, and that Blackberry will not honour the warranty, they referred to the Vodacom repair shop who also advised it cannot be fixed. I am very disappointed since I just started getting used to this smart phone and not knowing how it got wet since I am the only one using this handset, is there any other route I could take to be helped?

To rule out any possible software issue that may be causing your BlackBerry® Bold™ 9900 smartphone to not power on, please try to reload your BlackBerry® Device Software. For further steps, please see the following KB articles.

If this does not resolve the issue, then it may be hardware related. In that case, I would recommend contacting your network provider or point of sale again for other options.
