Bold 9900 update

Please help; I am not able to update to the new software. I didnt have any problems with my playbook. The update noticiations popped up. But my BOld 9900 even when I try to connect it takes along time to connect to my computer. I can barely back it up.  It get sucks on the smart chip options. Now that we have this new software, I am not able to update my phone cause it get stuck on a certain percentage. I spent two and half hours yesterday. and today I have spent four today

What are you trying to update to? The PlayBook software was updated but the OS on your BB wasn't necessarily updated today.

If you don't use a smart card I would use the Desktop Software to delete the smart card database and then try making the backup again.

I am trying to update my phone to the new software. When it does connect sayS its a new updaTe. When I click the update goes through the process but I neva make it paSs the back up part. And all my pictures are on my card so I cnt delete it.

You can use the "Delete" function in Desktop Manager to selectively delete the Smart Card database. That is different from the media card that stores your pictures. A smart card is a security card that the BB device picks up wirelessly and the device can't be accessed unless it's near the smart card.

Plug into DM and under Device in the menu select "Delete Data". Then just selectively delete only the smart card database.

I just realized there is a KB for this issue. It has more to do with Social Feeds and isn't the smart card options. Follow the instructions in this link:
