Bold 9900 upgrade to 7.1: will I lose data?

I've received an email from BlackBerry inviting me to upgrade the OS on my Bold 9900 to 7.1. If I go ahead, will the data on my handset remain intact, or will it be backed up and restored (I'm thinking of updating via Desktop software for PC)? And if a backup and restore is needed, will it restore *all* my data (including for instance the contents of my password keeper)?

Yes, all should remain intact, afterwards you will need to redownload your apps from AppWorld > MyWorld.

Some users have had the upgrade fail in some areas, so I would absolutely advise performing your own backup using the BlackBerry Desktop Software, first. When you connect to the PC and run the Desktop Software, you may be notified of the upgrade available so cancel that and back up first, then return and run the upgrade through the Desktop Software. I don't recommend upgrading wirelessly direct to the handheld.
