Bold 9930 keeps shutting down and recycling

This is very frustrating and I do not think it is Verizon.  I have had multiple Blackberry devices over the past 10 years and received the 9930 about 3 weeks ago.  I am on my second 9930 now (yes-within the 3 weeks) and the same thing keeps happening.


The device turns off and recycles constantly.  I pull the battery, wait 3-5 minutes, allow it to re-boot, and make sure there is a charge.  Once I pulled the battery and left it out overnight.  The device was completely uncharged after I re-installed the battery so I charged it for 24 hours.


Nothing has changed and the original issue is still occuring.  I have watched Verizon take these out of the box and set them up so I do not believe them to be refurbished. 


I feel this is a software issue.  Is RIM working on a fix?

I would suggest to do a clean reload of the device software as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320, please test before restoring any data to the device.


If this resolves the issue do a selective restore of essential data (Address Book, Calendar, Task, Memos, BBM contacts etc.)

If the issue still persists after the reload, further investigation might be required. To help further diagnose the cause, contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry® Technical Support Services for further review and support.

I too have a 9930 from Verizon that I unfortunately purchased on E-bay and can not get the warranty honoured. Even though I live 15 min. from RIM. lol. Unlike you though, mine progressed from what you describe, to a phone that remains black and just continuously cycle through a boot sequence. I hope you have better luck with yours.

I am having issues with my blackberry bold 9930 from verizon wireless just started last week, it goes off itself and automatically starts re booting and the battery is drained completely please what do I do?
