Bold is Painfully Slow

Running up to date OS 6.0 Bundle 2333 v6.0.0.542

This new OS is horrible... Everything is horribly slow, reboot constantly no change, no battery life, etc.

Are there updates coming up that will even fix half these problems?  What can I do?  Do I really have to manually close every single application to even have a chance for it to run like normal?  It would be great to have a smart phone and be able to use it for more than a slow caculator.

Re: Bold is Painfully Slow

You didn't say, but assuming you're on a 9700.

Most 9700 users I know have reverted back to OS5 for the 9700. Probably would be wise for you to do so too.

1. Delete the newer OS from your PC by going to Control Panel >Add/Remove Programs. (If you never physically installed the OS to your PC, skip to step 2.)

2. Then download and install the older version of the OS. BlackBerry Operating System Downloads

3. Install the older OS to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
4. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
5. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Re: Bold is Painfully Slow

Do not have a PC and never loaded the BlackBerry software to my Mac.  Would the process be relatively the same?

And yes I am on the 9700.

Re: Bold is Painfully Slow

NO, you can't load the software the same way as above. You'll be limited to using whatever software release your carrier pushes to your device, but you DO need to consider then, wipe the device and reload the OS from the MAC.

You really need to be backing up your device using the Mac Desktop Software.
