Bold issues ABOUND!

My Bold was quietly humming along last week and I thought I would do a sync with my desktop.  Upon connecting, it prompted me for a 4.6 core application update.  I did it, upon completion, it royally screwed my device.

Now upon boot, I get a duplicate entry error in my address book.

My brower is incapable of connecting to mobile.blackberry.com, Opera Mini refuses to connect.

In App World I get DNS or Resolving Errors and am unable to use the service.

Essentially, it's taken my very stable happy device and made my life heck. Smiley Tongue

I've played with multiple OSs and builds, it's been a big mess.

I was originally using a Rogers Bold .282 build.  Now it's .301 and useless.

Please help, I live and die by my berry.  This has been nothing but heartache for over a week now.

Kris

Re: Bold issues ABOUND!

Reinstalled the OS to 4.6.0.282

Still some of the same problems, seem stable.  Can't seem to access internet browser as an option, only Rogers Mall.

Re: Bold issues ABOUND!

Hi,

Options - Advanced options - Host routing table.

Click OK.

Now you should be able to use the Browser.

But check:

option - advanced options - browser

Ensure Default Browser Configuration says  "Internet Browser".

My Device: Rogers BB 8800 (Still kicking)

Re: Bold issues ABOUND!

Hi,

You have deleted the vendor file to install another carriers OS. One suggestion is to uninstall the .301 from your PC and downgrade to .282 which is the last approved OS by Rogers.

Peace,
