I hope someone can assist me. My Bold 9000 has a major issue - blank screen (not all the time, only after the screen goes blank and I click on the button to wake it up). I've searched the net and a lot of people seem to be having this issue - I just haven't found a solution.
Basically, it happens after the screen goes dark, I click on any button, the blank (non responsive) screen comes up, I press the menu button, the screen comes up (but only after the second click). At times, the screen is not blank but looks like a 'noise' (when there is no channel on tv) showing only a date and time, again I have to click a few times before the screen comes up or I have to pull the battery out and start again. This does not happen all the time.
My boot screen is also not normal. I cannot see blackberry written on boot screen, instead its just white.
Please help asap.

In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.
To do this we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry smartphone. Click on the Backup and Restore button and select Back Up. Please note the location where the backup is being saved as we will need to access it later to restore the BlackBerry smartphone.
Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the BlackBerry smartphone software.
Test before restoring any of the backup's.

I'm curious, because I have this exact same problem, but it started after I upgraded to version 5 of the device software. Now, most times when I wake the device up, it goes to this white noise screen and I have to move the trackball (if the phone isn't locked) or unlock the phone to get the screen to come up.
It's really frustrating because you can't see who is calling (for example), and you don't know what screen you're in when it happens, so you don't know what's going to happen when you click the trackball.
I've reloaded the software (repeatedly), but it still happens. Any other suggestions on how to fix this?
Worse still, at the same time this started to happen (when I upgraded to version 6 of the desktop), I keep getting "unknown errors" during the sync cycle when I connect the phone. It all seems to be connected to the latest device and desktop software, but I don't know what to do about.
Any help is appreciated.
