Bold shutting down repeatedly & drains battery constantly

I recently started to have problems with my Blackberry Bold, it will shut down and reboot itself repeatedly, sometimes for hours unless I disconnect the battery or connect it to a power source and it will drain the battery down to red and will shut radio signal off even if I have charged it all night,  sometimes it will be fine and when I use any application or make a phone call it will drain the battery all the way down.  But, it these problems only seem to occur when I have the radio signal on, if I turn it off and use my music or play games, the battery will drain at a normal rate.  Is it possibly a virus or spy ware??

Welcome to the support community!

If possible could you please try testing with another battery that you know to be functioning correctly just to rule out any issues with the battery itself that could be causing this?
If you have the same issue with another battery, please try to first back up all your data using the BlackBerry Desktop Software and then perform a clean reload of your BlackBerry Device Software. For further steps, please see the following KB articles.

Please test to make sure the issue has been resolved before restoring your backup file.
