Brand New Curve 9300 with MEP 0

I have a friend who works at T-Mobile. I had recently lost my phone and needed a replacement. She had an old Curve lying around brand new in box, factory sealed. Now the problem is I don't have T-Mobile, I have AT&T. But when I tried to enter a code to unlock the phone, it shows that I have 0 attempts left. How is this even possible if the phone was brand new, and that was my first time trying to unlock it? Is there a way to fix this? I actually kind of like this phone. Thanks for any help.

Re: Brand New Curve 9300 with MEP 0

Hi jhar396

Welcome to Support Forums

On a BlackBerry it allows us 10 attempts to enter the Correct MEP Code , If you fail those attempts it will be hardlocked.  If you claim it to be a Brand new and it allowed you only one attempt  then as it is a T Mobile Device Contact then for further help .

Also look at this thread on what to do in such situation :Network MEP code (0: left)

Good luck.
