Browser (wap) only option for Bold 9900?

Switched from curve 8520 to bold. I really love it. BUT when the wifi is off and i wanna browser through my browser, it shows browsing over celular network ot included etc.

I remember in os5, there are 2 types of browser, "hotspot browser" and "browser"

I dont have a data plan but on my curve i can still browse on the browser only option.

In OS 6 and OS 7, BlackBerry phones automatically choose the browser best optimized for your browsing session, whether it be the standard BlackBerry browser or the Hotspot browser; you no longer have the choice to select one over the other.

Re: Browser (wap) only option for Bold 9900?

Because you don't have a proper BlackBerry data plan (BIS, for BlackBerry Internet Service), maybe? You need BIS on all pre-BB10 phones in order for them to fully function properly. Otherwise, you get situations such as yours.

If I recall correclty, you can install Opera Mini on your 9900 and use WiFi only for simply internet browsing.

Re: Browser (wap) only option for Bold 9900?

Yeah I don't have a bis account. Although on my curve 8520 running os5, its fine using the browser only option. Just using gprs or something.
