CANNOT CONNECT EVEN ON WIFI

EVEN WHEN MY PHONE INDICATES THAT I AM CONNECTED TO A WIFI NETWORK, I COULD NOT LOG ON MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT NOR BROWSE ANY WEBSITE AT THAT.  I DELETED EVRYTHING IN THE SERVICE BOOKS OPTION OF THE DEVICE SETTING BUT NONE WOULD WORK.  PLEASE HELP! I PURCHASED THIS PHONE FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET EVEN WHILE I'M ON THE GO..

Re: CANNOT CONNECT EVEN ON WIFI

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Reboot

  • With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support and to be sure you are subscribed to a data plan from them that is adequate to enable the services you desire to use (note please that, even via WiFi only, many BB-proprietary services still require subscription to an adequate data plan from your carrier).

Good luck!

Unable to understand the same. Wifi is connected on my blackberry  but when I open any website it says Data services are disabled, go to mobile network to enable. If i enable data service I got huge bill that means wifi do not work. Kindly help.

Re: CANNOT CONNECT EVEN ON WIFI

Disabling data services does exactly what it states. If you disable them, then you cannot use them via any channel. If you instead shut off your mobile network radio and use WiFi only, then you could enable data services (of course, you won't receive any calls).

All billing questions are a matter between you and your mobile service provider...no one else is party to that.

Good luck!

4. CHOOSE THE NETWORK WHERE YOU'RE CONNECTED

5. PRESS THE BLACKBERRY BUTTON AND SELECT TROUBLESHOOT

6. PING

7. ON PING TYPE, SELECT "SELF"

Re: CANNOT CONNECT EVEN ON WIFI

1. Login to your router.

2. Disable the WMM (Wifi Multi-Media).

It works on BB bold9900 and BB classic.

Good luck!
