CRTranRec::GetLinkedRecordld : Invalid linked record ld

Has anyone found a solution to this error code when trying to sync with Outlook using the desktop software? It happens when I try to sync contacts this message comes up and the sync ends. Any help would be appreciated. I've already tried reinstalling Blackberry desktop software and repairing Office software.

Cheers

Re: CRTranRec::GetLinkedRecordld : Invalid linked record ld

Hi Janine,

I get the same error message, and although I have yet to find the perfect solution, I discovered that I am able to sync Microsoft Outlook Contacts if I deselect the sync for Microsoft Outlook Calendar (usually, I sync both at the same time.)

Best regards,

Bob

Re: CRTranRec::GetLinkedRecordld : Invalid linked record ld

Hi Janine,

Okay, this is the solution that worked for me:

In BlackBerry Desktop software, select Organizer > place a check mark in Calendar (only) > Reset settings = Yes

Organizer Options = Confirm any changes, and Always use the data on my computer > OK

Configure = One way to your device only > Sync = Upcoming calendar entries only > Advanced, Fields click on Reset field mappings > Folders = Sync your default calendar > OK > OK > then click on Sync Organizer, on the bottom right of your screen.

The only problem might be if you have addied appointments to you BlackBerry, and you need a two-way sync (I did not try that configuration.)

Good Luck!

Best regards,

Bob

How is it that RIM cant fix this problem fast??

By far this is the worst experience I´ve had with this phone, if it wasnt because my company insist on using this phones I´ve already change for another device on the go.

RIM, can we as users have fast actions???PLEAASEEE, or you just cant fix it?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

First...this site is a user-to-user community...not a vehicle to make any formal complaints (or any other formal communications, for that matter!) with RIM. None...nada...the fact that post 2 came from a RIM person is a rare instance, and should never be counted on.

That said, did you read Post 2? In that, VF gave very explicit instructions as to what to do so that you can actually help RIM resolve this. If you'd like to be part of the solution, then please do as VF instructed above.

Otherwise, I suggest this thread:

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, which you may well need so as to stop this error from showing. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

Good luck!

Hi,

This error is because you have a blank contact image on your address book (for example your address book would have been synced with facebook and some friends have not updated their photos and it is as well synced in your address book). Please identify the contacts, delete those blank contact images and then try yo sync.

It worked for me.....

Re: CRTranRec::GetLinkedRecordld : Invalid linked record ld

been dealing with this problem for weeks, been trying all there is to try to fix this, because i really need to be able to use my BB in coordination with my Outlook.

The EASIEST and the most effective, is to DOWNGRADE to the older desktop software.

That's what i did and it worked like a charm!!! Praise God for this....

Hope this information will help...

Re: CRTranRec::GetLinkedRecordld : Invalid linked record ld

i received this same message while trying to do a two-way sync of just my calendar, so it's not limited to the Contacts sync.

The error log contained the following in red

CRSyncUtil::LogFatalTransError : 'SetRecurringRecord()' API of 'MSOl' translator for 'Calendar' application returned empty error

Does this help narrow the search for a fix?
