I have BB Torch 9800, the calendar icon has disappeared from the home screen, although "calendar" in text is still present and by touching/clicking on it, opens the calendar.
But suddenly where the calendar icon has gone...

Hello and welcome to BlackBerry support community forums.
It may happen that your icon is been hidden. To check that press menu button (while your device is on standby/home screen mode) > select Show All. Now look for your calender icon, which might be in dimmed. If that is so highlight the icon > press menu > un-check hide. That would be all.

Thanks for the prompt reply,
The icon is not hidden, because if it would be hidden then it should not display "Calendar" wriitten in text.
I have checked the hide option is unchecked.
It is like blank icon with calendar written below that space

Thank you very much for the solution! Such a great relief to have my Calendar icon back finally. It was not hidden but somehow just disappeared a few hours ago & I have been searching for solutions online till I came across this wonderful reply.

can you not just find the function using search (in my case, "camera") and then do something to add that function back to the homescreen?
I have no idea how my camera disappeared, but now I have to use search everytime I want to use it, but I don't want to reset all my icons.
