Camera Use Shuts Down Phone

So besides this miserable email issue (by the way, my emails having been comign through instantly for months now.  I'll get like 12 at once then none for hours but I digress....).  I just tried to take a picture with my lovely Torch and when I hit the "take" button it completely shuts down my phone.  In order to turn it back on, I have to do a battery pull.  I've tried it twice and both times, it turns the phone off.  I was taking pictures earlier today just fine....

Re: Camera Use Shuts Down Phone

Try a Battery pull please, with the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot device. This will clear all cache like rebooting a PC. Then try again and see if your problem persists.

What OS are you on? On your device, type in a new message MYVER and a space after to see and report back please.

Re: Camera Use Shuts Down Phone

My version is 9700/

Sometimes the camera's fine. Other times, when I try to take the picture, the flash comes on for a millisecond and the phone switches off. A battery pull is required to switch it on again.

Will reinstalling the OS help?

My 9930 is doing the same thing.  Very frustrating.  Can't believe there is no definitive explanation on this forum.
