Can I install Arabic Language

Hi:

I bought my phone from AT&T and it does not allow me to write in Arabic because there is no option of languages other than English and Spanish, so is there a way where I can install Arabic language so that I would be able to write in both Arabic and English.

Thank You so much guys...

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Check your device OS and match it from another vendor on this page:.

BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites for example:

Software For BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.695 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 6.0.0.695
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 6.0.0.246
  • Software Platform: 6.4.0.105
  • File name: 9800M_PBr6.0.0_rel695_PL6.4.0.105_A6.0.0.246_Mobily.exe
  • File size: 161.7MB

When you download the device software and install it on your PC,  make sure you delete the vendor.xml file.

Thanks,

Make sure you have run a successful full backup of your device using the Blackberry desktop software before installing and device OS.

Thanks for the reply

I have a question: Does this void the warranty on the device?

Thanks

Re: Can I install Arabic Language

Hi,

No worries about the warranty!

RIM produces the device OS software for all devices. This device OS (operating system) is then sent

to the carriers for distribution, the carriers "brand" the software as their software. By deleting the vendor.xml file you remove the "brand"  and allow the device to operate on a different carrier.

It's a very common practice, check the search box in the upper right corner to see examples.

Thanks,
