Can not receive or send emails

I am away in Cyprus been here 6 times a year never had a problem Arrived a few days ago. Not able to send emails or receive them also BBM not working. O2 say I need to get service books. Any ideas. Have tried re launching hosting tables. Battery out. Nothing works.
