Can not setup email on BB9900

I had BB9780 for more than 2 years and was not able to setup new email account, then I decided to buy new BB9900.

Initialy I succeed to setup email on my new BB9900 but when I connected BB9900 on BB deskstop, it suggested me to transfer data from my previous BB9780. I did this big mistake !!!

Now, if I click setup email account icon, nothing happens.

I tried www.blackberry.com/integrate but it said "your carrier is not supported at this time" !?

Have you tried to go onto the mobile email website for your carrier? You can managed (add/delete/modify) the email accounts you have on your BlackBerry.

Email on a BB requires an adequate BB-proprietary data plan from the carrier. For a carrier to provide that plan, they must be a proper BB-supporting carrier. From that message, I can only deduce that yours (Prixtel) is not a proper BB-supporting carrier, and therefore cannot provide you with any BB-proprietary services, including email.

What I suggest is you ring them up and ask them about this...if they indeed claim to be a proper BB-supporting carrier, then insist that they begin delivering to you the BB-proprietary services for which you are paying them. And further insist that they provide you with specific instructions or configuring those services...for it appears that all of the methods we know about simply cannot work for you, and you now must rely solely on your carrier for formal support to resolve this.

Hi

 

Thanks a lot for the insight regarding Prixtel and I will do this, BUT when I received my BB9900 with Prixtel SIM card I was able to setup all my email accounts !? So It worked with Prixtel.

As I was in trouble with my contact list still seated in old blackberry I made BB desktop data transfer operation and this is where things start to be wrong.

I also did a "factory reconfiguration" on BB9900 expecting that data transfer operation will be canceled and hoping it will came bak to original status but not...I am still with useless new BB9900 !!!

 

Any idea ??

I suggest you go and talk to Prixtel then...there may be something they need to do on their end to properly migrate your account from the old device over to the new one.

Also, be aware that each carrier decides which specific BB models their network will work with...if the Prixtel network does not natively support the 9900, then it might never work on their network anyway. But, again, only they can answer that question.

Hello,
Probably the restore did something, you can try deleting email setup wizard from Options>Device>Application Management and then reinstall it again.

This afternoon I tried sim card of a friend in my terminal : email account setting option works ! Then, I will call my provider on monday to try to fix it....let you know. For me remain mystery why it works originally and then not ? Thanks for support anyway.
