I had this problem with my previous BB and thought the software crashed. Upon upgrading to a Bold 790 I still have this problem. I spoke to Tech support, they say everything is ok on their side. I took my phone back, the tech at the MTN shop checked, corrected my centre number.
Still NOTHING. I can send smss and e-mails but cant receive any. People who sent me mails or messages says their phones shows it was delivered.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should get back in contact your service provider for formal support...I am actually quite sad that they let you walk out of their shop with the problem not resolved...especially the SMS problem since that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with your BB data services and is 100% under the control of your carrier.

I´m having exactly the same problem with a Bold 9900.
My carrier is brazilian VIVO.
Tried to wipe all data, resend address book, BIS configurations, but the problem still there. Tried to use my old Bold 9000 and all worked fine.
