Can't connect to Paypal

I have had a Paypal account for several years, when trying to make a purchase on app world I get the error

 

"There was a problem contacting PayPal.  Please try later"

 

I've tried multiple times with no success, any suggestions?

(I'm using a BB Storm)

 

 

  • Your Carrier  - Verizon
  • Your BlackBerry Model - Storm
  • Your BlackBerry OS (Can be found in Options -> About) 4.7.0.113
  • Version of App World (Can be found by going into Options -> Advanced ->Applications) 1.0.0.26
  • If you have BIS or BES (Personal Use or Corporate Use)  bes

    I am in the same boat as the original poster.  My colleague and I have received this error when trying to purchase software on two different BBs, using two different paypall accounts.

     

    BB #1: 

     

  • Your Carrier  - Telus
  • Your BlackBerry Model - Storm
  • Your BlackBerry OS (Can be found in Options -> About) 4.7.0.113
  • Version of App World (Can be found by going into Options -> Advanced ->Applications) 1.0.0.28
  • If you have BIS or BES (Personal Use or Corporate Use): BES
  •  

    BB #2: 

     

     
  • Your Carrier  - Rogers
  • Your BlackBerry ModelBold
  • Your BlackBerry OS (Can be found in Options -> About) 4.6.0.247
  • Version of App World (Can be found by going into Options -> Advanced ->Applications) 1.0.0.27

    This looks like it may be a BES issue.  I got my hands on another Bold this afternoon running the same OS with the same carrier and version of App world and it had no trouble contacting paypal.  I plan on blowing my Bold away tomorrow and setting it up as BIS only to see if it is in fact the BES to blame.

    This is either a BES or network firewall issue.  When I disconnect my BB from the BES and attempt to use paypal to pay for an app in appworld, it works fine.  If I re-activate on my company BES, paypal no longer works.  It may be a BES issue, but it is not a BES policy issue as I have tested with a no restriction policy.  This leads me to belive it may be my corporate firewall that is to blame.

    skel420 : it could be helpful if you explain how you disconnect a BlackBerry device from a BES. Thanks Smiley Happy
