Can't set up IMAP email

Greetings,

 

I'm having trouble setting up an IMAP email account. I have set up a new account through Setup > Email Settings but the Advanced Options says that the Email server type is "POP". How do I change this to IMAP?

 

This is for a Tour 9630 on Verizon Wireless.

Can you please provide more information? Where are you seeing the POP server type listed? Are you referring to the server name? Have you verified with your mail server administrator that IMAP is enabled? http://bbry.lv/yeEKYS

Thanks for getting back to me.

 

The server type is listed in Setup > Email Settings > [email address] > edit > Advanced Options. The Email server type is POP, port 995, use SSL is checked. The Email Server is webmail.sageinternet.com.

 

IMAP is working on the other two computers using Office Outlook. I'm just trying to set up an IMAP account an the BlackBerry.

Hi SGoodman,

 

I would advise reaching out to your mail server administrator to verify that IMAP with SSL is enabled. The article previously provided lists the preference order when integrating an email account.
