Can the Blackberry 8220 phone be used by someone who is blind?

I have recently got myself a Blackberry 8220 to replace my old phone.  My partner, who is blind, currently has a Nokia phone with TALKS installed (it reads out what's on the screen for her).  Is there something similar for the 8220?

Thank you very much for that.

I have a couple of questions (I am checking on the Handango  site as well). Can someone use it for SMS?  Can it be used to manage someones phonebook?

Check this site: http://www.voiceonthego.com/

It is the application vendor.

In case you have questions about their product, or need more detailed info - navigate the site or send them a email.

Thanks again.

I have e-mailed them.  I'll call it solved if I can get SMSs to be accessible.  Everything else seems to be there, though.

Re: Can the Blackberry 8220 phone be used by someone who is blind?

After an e-mail to Handango and a phone call to Voice on the Go, I've found out that you can send SMSs but not receive them (i.e. it won't read them out to the user).  Unfortunately that's enough to make it, at best, a partial solution.

Thank you again for your help.
