My Device: Blackberry Torch 9810 OS 7.1, Blackberry Playbook
My Carrier: MTS

Cannot Connect Emails to Torch with OS7.1

I had downloaded the OS7.1 for my Torch 9810, and after doing a security wipe, I cannot add my email adresses to my phone.
I've tried getting rid of them but to find out there was no trace of them on there.
I click on the setup emails icon and nothing happens. I pull my battery, still happens.

I tried contacting Blackberry Help via Twitter and got no replies except some spam from some random person.

Hi bookachuu

Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums

After a device wipe have you login with your BlackBerry ID on your device ! Go to Options > Device > BlackBerry ID > please check .

Then first register your device with your carrier Network ,

KB00510 : How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network

Reboot your device by removing the battery while your device is Powered On , after reboot from your BlackBerry browser browse to www.blackberry.com/integrate and try to add the email account that you want.

Re: Cannot Connect Emails to Torch with OS7.1

Hi bookachuu

Please try those steps again to make sure that service books are properly pushed by your carrier .

1- Register your Handheld .

  • KB00510 : How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Wait till a Registration messages comes in your message box.

2- Resend your Service Book

  • KB02830 : Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • ( Wait till a Registration Message comes in your message box for each email that you have configured on your device )

3-  Then perform a battery pull restart like this while the device is powered On remove your battery wait for a min. then reinsert it back

Then go through that above link to see if it allows , If you still recieve that error then you have to Contact your Carrier to know about this issue.
