Cannot access address book contacts on micro SD card

I have been using a BB 8100 for 18 months and have all my 280+ contacts saved onto a micro SD card rather than the SIM card. Now I have a 8900 I want to transfer all my contacts over, but when I put the SIM and the micro SD card in the new phone, it'll onky let me access the SIM card for contacts. How do I transfer my contacts from the SD card onto the new phone? I don't want to have to type them all in manually!

Re: Cannot access address book contacts on micro SD card

Contacts>sim phonebook>menu>copy all to contacts.

They're not going to the SD card but on the device itself.

I agree, your contacts are never saved to the Media Card. That's not possible.

if they are still on your old device, and you have it, you can use Desktop Manager > Switch Device Wizard to move the contacts from the old Address Book to the new device, along with any other preferences, etc., at the same time.
