Cannot configure synchronization

Our I.T. person installed the Desktop Manager on my computer. I hooked up the phone and started the Desktop Manager. When I click on the Configure Sync. button, it begins and shows: "Determining Root Configuration Name for Main". It stops and I get "Unknown Error Reported". This happens when hooking the phone up to the computer as well.

 

Here is what I am working with:

Outlook 2003

Windows XP Professional 2002 Service Pack 2

BlackBerry Curve

Desktop Manager Version 4.3.0.17

 

I set my email account up and it works fine. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Unistall you present desktop manager with all the settings and install desktop manager 4.5 from here.

 

Try the following for synchronization -

 

Connect you HH with your desktop Manager in your PC. If you device is set to wireless sync then you need to turn off wireless synchronization. To do so go to Address Book -> click Menu -> Options -> Wireless Synchronization: No -> click Menu and Save the changes.

 

Click on the Synchronize button on Desktop Manager -> Click on Configuration Tab then click on Configure Synchronization -> Click on Choose under Address Book (on the right side of the pop up window) -> Click on you organizer apps (like, MS outlook, Lotus notes etc) -> Select desired apps -> select Synchronization radio button and click OK twicego back to Synchronize tab ->click on Synchronize Now.

Thanks, but "Wireless Sync" does not show up when I go into "Options" in the Menu for Address Book. I think it may have something to do with Administrator settings, since when the software is loaded under Administrator and you hook up the phone, the options of Configure Sync show up, but when I am logged in with my rights, I get the Unknown Error Reported message.

The issue was rights. When I was given Administrator rights, I was able to configure the Sync. I sync'd the Curve. My rights were reduced back to their normal level and the Curve syncs fine.
