Re: Cannot move from t-mobile to O2 (Help)

if you are trying to create a new BIS account using pre-owned BB, on your service providers BIS site and you are getting the error that account alredy present; in this scenario your service provider should escalate this to RIM to release your PIN so you can create new account.

Re: Cannot move from carrier to carrier

So I am in the same position. Bought a BB Bold from someone online. It's unclocked from the old Carrier, but not the PIN. Problem is the same as the OP, I do not know the original carrier, nor am I having any luck getting in touch with the previous owner.

My question is: is it possible to even find out WHO the previous carrier was? If that was the case I could at least try to track the original owner down through them. But at the moment, short of walking from carrier to carrier (quite a feat here in Hong Kong) I'm stumped.

Second Question: Can RIM help? (i.e. is it worth paying for support?)

thanks for any help!
