Car Bluetooth

I updated my Torch 9800 with the automatic update 6.0.0.668 but this has thrown my car bluetooth and now the phone connects only once every 10 times or so.  It is hugely annoying as I need to spend a great deal of time on the phone in the car.  I have a Land Rover Disco series 3.  I have deleted the handset, re configured and tried just about everything a simpleton like I can but still get no joy.  Can anyone suggest how to revert back to the previous operating system or is there a software download to correct what presumably is a device issue?

Re: Car Bluetooth

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I'm not sure about the root cause diagnosis, but to fall back your OS, this process works...

At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for each model. Please use those as reference as you proceed.

From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:

Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

Good luck and let us know!

Re: Car Bluetooth

Out of curiousity when you turn off your bluetooth while sitting in your car and turn it back on does it connect automatically?

Re: Car Bluetooth

Thanks for the advice.  Regrettably I was not able to select both box options on the Advanced page for all application data and all curretnly installed applications so was not sure if to proceed?
