Re: Certificate Error on my Torch this morning

I was having the same issue as everyone else with the "untrusted certificate" message.  It's been going on for me for a couple of days now.  I got on here today to try to find a solution.  I think I found the help I needed and I wanted to share with everyone.  So far so good...keeping my fingers crossed.

The answer I found can be viewed by going to my.blackberry.com.  Click on Support Forums (in upper right of screen, blue text).  Then click the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center Tab.  Next it will show a search bar.  The thread I found is titled "Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry smartphone prompted the user to trust a new BlackBerry certificate when connecting".  Enter this sentence in the search bar and read BlackBerry's response.

Solution has worked for me so far...best of luck to everyone!

Apparently trusting the certificate and punching in your password is the fix. It's working for me. Although a standard fix applied here, the issue was not standard if it affected so many users at once. My problem with is, Blackberry made no formal announcement concerning it so how were we suppose to know it was from them. With everything that has been coming out about recent phishing attacks on BB users and giving up a portion of their encryption code to sell devices in certain regions, I'm not about to give my password out to any anonymous certificate that comes over my device.  It would have taken a one sentence announcement on their website or any tech site to save me two days of sifting thru KB entries and hours on the line with several different tech support services.
