Change of mobile provider has caused a problem with BIS on my bb pearl

Hi, hope someone can help.

I have just changed mobile provider from O2 to Orange via sim only contract.  I had BIS set up when I was with O2 although it took approximately 2 weeks before my e-mails could be pushed to my handset.  Now I am with Orange, I have asked them to set me up with BIS, but, to date, I have been unable to receive any e-mails.

Do I need to do something on my handset?

Pretty desperate for a solution as I am having to pay for BIS with Orange and am paying for something I am not able to use at the moment.

Re: Change of mobile provider has caused a problem with BIS on my bb pearl

You need to make sure you PIN of the BB is registered with the new account, and your emails are setup there.

But also, make sure Orange provisioned the BlackBerry Data Plan to the account, sometimes people make mistakes and it might not have been activiated.

On your handset, go to Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table. Press Menu > Register. If you are set up correctly for a BlackBerry Data Plan, you should get a registration message in your Message folder within 15-20 minutes if not sooner.

Re: Change of mobile provider has caused a problem with BIS on my bb pearl

I have followed your instructions re: go to Options etc, but when I get to Host Routing Table and click it I get HRT Editor (i.e. no option to press Menu>Register).  Under HRT Editor is the following:-

234 UK [23403330]

Wi-Fi [60]

234 UK [23400730] & 8 more similar entries.

If I press on 234 UK [23403330] it takes me to View GPRS Entry and provides a lot of info e.g. Name: 234 UK, NPC etc.

If I press on Wi-Fi [60] it takes me to View Wi-Fi Entry and provides similar info to the above

I have also forgotten my PIN.  When I have clicked "forgotton pin" I get a message stating the PIN has been sent to my handset, but I can't find it.

The PIN of your BB is located at Options > Status.

You may very well need to setup the BIS service on your BB.

Many thanks. I will ring Orange tomorrow. If they can't help, I will try O2.
