Changing Email password when using a 9800 connected to a BES server

First time BlackBerry user and I need to change my Exchange email password. My company has a BES server that pushes out the Email and does Synchs. When I change my Exchange PWD how do I then change it on my 9800 device?

If you're on a BES you don't have to change the password on the BlackBerry. The BlackBerry doesn't use your exchange password.

I thought that it had to store the Exchange password on the BlackBerry so it could access the Exchange system?

No. That's only devices that support ActiveSync like windows mobile and iPhone. The only password you need to activate the BlackBerry is the Enterprise Activation password that your IT department gives you. You only need to do that when you first get the device, get a replacement device, or if the device is wiped and you need it reactivated.

Re: Changing Email password when using a 9800 connected to a BES server

BlackBerry devices on BES use permissions/login credentials from the BESAdmin Service account to access the mailboxes. End user AD password changes do not affect access to the mailbox.

Once added to BES, you can activate a device by wire with out a password (not counting AD) unless there is a policy blocking this method.
