Charger Port Broken on Curve 8520

To whom it may concern,
I spoke to Chris in your technical support team in Canada this morning regarding the handset. The charger port has fallen into the handset and can not be charged.
I have taken the handset back to Carphone Warehouse for repair and they have informed me that they have adhered to the stringent guidelines set by RIM / BlackBerry and it is therefore out of our hands and they wish to charge me £169.99 to repair the handset, they have stated that it is due to physical damage by me and the warranty does not cover this repair.
I disagree with their decision and whilst talking to Chris this morning she stated that they (Carphone Warehouse) can not prove whether it is physical damage and that they should repair the handset free of charge due to the warranty still being within 12 months and she stated that if the repair centre contact you direct you can advise them of this.
I have a handset that is no use to me and a contract that I can not get out of until Dec 2013, I would appreciate your help with this matter with urgency. I have also read a few messages on your site regarding the same issue so I am not the only customer you have with issues and that would lead me to believe that there certainly is a manufacturing fault.
Your website is not very easy to navigate and it seems that you make up your warranty limitations as you go along,
In anticipation, Anna

Anna, This is a user-to-user community support forum. We are not RIM employees, but volunteers who enjoy assisting other users. RIM personnel do not handle or process warranty issues here. You would have noticed this in the EULA and message upon registration.

You need to contact your mobile provider who provides all warranty services for the device. Carphone Warehouse is not your provider, but Orange, Vodafone, etc., would be. Broken USB ports is normally noted as physical damage.

Good luck, hope you get it fixed.
