Company changed email server on me!

Hi All,

I was accessing my company email through the 'other' type for email set up, where I just list my email address, password and email server name as the company doesn't have a BES. Worked happily for ages and then they upgraded the server and so changed the server name. Unfortunately I didn't see the edit capabilitiy on my Curve in the account settings and followed the alternative route - delete the account and add a new one - thinking this woudl be simple.

I deleted the account and went to add a new one (my gmail account is still working OK). I selected 'other' entered my email account and password and clicked on continue - it says it cannot verify my email address and won't let me continue!!!!!

I have pulled the battery out to reset; and have loaded a backup thinking it would return the email set up I had removed so i could just edit it. Unfortunately nothing works.

I suspect that the old email server name is in there somewhere and when i put my email address in it looks at that old server - which nolonger exists, and so can't verify. I need some way of being able to get to some panel that lets me change to the new server name but I can't find any way to do that.

Hence this cry for help.

Do you know what type the email server might be? Is it OWA Outlook Web Access?


Please try this FIRST, using your BlackBerry browser...

• Go to mobile.blackberry.com OR to www.blackberry.com/integrate
• Scroll down to Communication and then to Email.
• Choose the appropriate email set up options.

If that works and completes your email setup/editing, good.

Unfortunately that pretty much does the same as the set up in the O/S. I just enter my email address and password and then click on NEXT. The company uses an Exchange 2010 server . In the email address that i removed there is an advanced tab (saw in a colleague's BB) that lists the https:\\ address for the server. I cannot get to anywhere in teh phone that allows me to change that to the new address. i assume that after entering my email address and password there shodul be somewhere i can enter the email server to look at, but can't get to it. My PC works fine and is picking up my emails so my acocunt exists it's just I can't tell my BB the new server name and it seems to have teh old name stuck somewhere and so can't verify my email address Smiley Sad!
