Compatible memory cards

I have tried to find the answer for myself but with no luck, so I want to be sure, will a 16GB SDHC memory card be compatible with the Storm?

Re: Compatible memory cards

Thanks!  I was trying to look for an answer for this too!

Sorry for being stupid, how would I format the SDHC card to make it work in the Storm?

Thanks again

Re: Compatible memory cards

how long does it usually take to format a card??? I have a 8gb micro sd... when I try to format it, the phone locks up for a couple of hours, the phone itself becomes really hot, then it drains the battery and dies...

mmm what am I doing wrong??

Re: Compatible memory cards

FYI to all -- SD compatibility and the device model are not relevant. Rather, the OS level the device is running is what determines the size of SD card that it can handle. See this KB:

KB05461 MicroSD media card sizes supported by BlackBerry Device Software versions

For formatting and other SD issues, see these KBs:

KB10527 Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted
KB14745 Memory card contains error, please use disk checking utility on computer
KB10312 Unable to view the media card using the BlackBerry smartphone
KB13107 MicroSD media card bad sector

Re: Compatible memory cards

[ Edited ]

hi guys,

I am a Storm 2 owner.

As you know media cards have "classes", with the most common being the class 2.

My question is:

Will a 16gb MicroSDHC class 10 work just the same?

Thanks for your help!!
