I'm looking for updates on Article ID: KB33303 (http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocume
I'm using Desktop 7,1 on Win8 and BB 9700 Bold and phone just connects the 1st time the software is installed.

Hello alezante and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
To clarify the issue you are experiencing, you are only able to get the tethered modem to successfully connect once after the initial install of the Desktop Software?
Have you confirmed with your mobile provider that your current data plan includes tethered modem usage? There could be some additional charges to use this service.

Hi there, thank you for replying.
I'm not tethering, I'm connecting with the USB cable. It does connect when I install the desktop software for the 1st time, but does not any other time. If I disinstall the software and reinstall it, it works properly, for just one time!

Ah ok. Wasn't sure as the KB you linked was for tethered modem usage.
If you reboot your device and your computer (after the initial connection) then try again, does your device get detected by the Desktop Software?
Do you get any error when connect or just no response?
On your device do you see the lightening bolt to indicate charging?

Even after a complete reboot of device and PC the device does not connect to the Internet.
The device is detected and when trying to connect the software says that the device modem is already in use and cannot get connected.
I see the lightening bolt to indicate charging.
